Holder of a Law degree recognized from a Law University established by Law in India.
Eligible to practice as an Advocate in India.
Must have practiced as an Advocate in the High Court of Bombay or Courts subordinate thereto for not less than 3 years.
Note- Practice as an Advocate shall be reckoned from the date of provisional enrollment or registration as an Advocate with the State Bar Council.
All candidates must be able to speak, read, and write the Marathi language fluently. Sufficient knowledge of Marathi, as well as the ability to translate fluently from Marathi to English and English to Marathi, is essential.
The minimum age is 21 years, while the maximum age allowed for the exam is 35 years.

To be eligible for the 50-mark interview for the Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class cadre, a candidate must obtain 50% marks in each question paper of the main examination.
Candidates from backward classes or disabled candidates must obtain 45% marks as mentioned above to be eligible for the interview.
The final stage of the selection process is the Maharashtra Civil Judge Examination interview, which carries a total of fifty marks.
Only candidates who secure at least 40% or more marks in the interview will be considered for final selection.
For disabled persons, only those securing 35% or more marks will be considered for final selection.
