MAHARASHTRA JUDICIARY SYLLABUS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Holder of a Law degree recognized from a Law University established by Law in India.

Eligible to practice as an Advocate in India.

 

AGE LIMIT

The minimum age is 21 years, while the maximum age allowed for the exam is 35 years.

Preliminary Examination : Objective and Multiple Choice Type 

Mains Examination : Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type)

Interview : Viva-voce (Personality Test)

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The prelims exam comprises a single question paper of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. It contains 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in English. The syllabus includes:

MAINS EXAMINATION

The mains exam is descriptive and consists of two papers of 100 marks each, with a duration of 3 hours for each paper. The exams are conducted in both Marathi and English. The syllabus includes:

The Law of Contracts

INTERVIEW: VIVA VOCE

The final stage of the selection process is the Maharashtra Civil Judge Examination interview, which carries a total of fifty marks.
