Bihar Judiciary (PCS-J) Preparation Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Preparation

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Holder of a Law degree recognized from a Law University established by Law in India.

Eligible to practice as an Advocate in India.

Must have practiced as an Advocate in the High Court of Bombay or Courts subordinate thereto for not less than 3 years.

Note- Practice as an Advocate shall be reckoned from the date of provisional enrollment or registration as an Advocate with the State Bar Council. 

All candidates must be able to speak, read, and write the Marathi language fluently. Sufficient knowledge of Marathi, as well as the ability to translate fluently from Marathi to English and English to Marathi, is essential.

 

AGE LIMIT

The minimum age is 21 years, while the maximum age allowed for the exam is 35 years.

 

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Preliminary Examination : Objective and Multiple Choice Type 

Mains Examination : Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type)

Interview : Viva-voce (Personality Test) 

 

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The prelims exam comprises a single question paper of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. It contains 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in English.

The Indian Evidence Act

The Transfer of Property Act

The Specific Relief Act

The Maharashtra Rent Control Act

The Limitation Act

The Constitution of India

The Indian Penal Code

The Law of Contract

The Sale of Goods Act

The Partnership Act

Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023,

Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, 

Bhartiya Nagrik Surksha Sanhita, 2023.

 

MAINS EXAMINATION

The mains exam is descriptive and consists of two papers of 100 marks each, with a duration of 3 hours for each paper. The exams are conducted in both Marathi and English. The syllabus includes:

 

Paper – I

The Civil Procedure Code

The Transfer of Property Act

The Specific Relief Act

The Law of Contracts

The Sale of Goods Act

The Partnership Act

 

Paper – II

The Indian Penal Code

The Evidence Act

The Code of Criminal Procedure

The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989

The Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955

Essay on a current legal topic (approximately 800 words)

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023,

Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, 

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023.

To be eligible for the 50-mark interview for the Civil Judge Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class cadre, a candidate must obtain 50% marks in each question paper of the main examination.

Candidates from backward classes or disabled candidates must obtain 45% marks as mentioned above to be eligible for the interview.

 

INTERVIEW: VIVA VOCE

The final stage of the selection process is the Maharashtra Civil Judge Examination interview, which carries a total of fifty marks.

Only candidates who secure at least 40% or more marks in the interview will be considered for final selection.

For disabled persons, only those securing 35% or more marks will be considered for final selection.
