BIHAR JUDICIARY SYLLABUS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 

(a) The candidate must be a citizen of India.

(b) The candidate must hold a degree in law.

(c) A Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) is mandatory. 

AGE LIMIT

Minimum 22 years and maximum 35 years as of the specified cutoff date.

Age Relaxation: 

OBC: 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years) 

SC / ST / Women / PwD: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)

 

Scheme of Examination 

 Preliminary Examination: Objective and Multiple choice type

Mains Examination: Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type)

Interview: Viva- Voce (Personality Type)  

Preliminary Examination 

The exam has multiple-choice questions.

There are two papers on General Awareness and Law. 

1. General Knowledge -100 Marks. It will be of 1:30 Hours.

2. LAW -150 Marks. It will be of 2 Hours.

2. Elementary General Science

3. Law of Evidence and Procedure

4. Constitutional and Administrative Law of India

5. Hindu Law and Muslim Law

6. Law of Transfer of Property and Principles of Equity (including Law of Trusts and Specific Relief)

7. Law of Contracts and Torts

 8. Commercial Law

 MAINS EXAMINATION

Candidates are eligible for Mains examination are only who gets minimum qualifying marks i.e. 45% for candidates belonging to the Unreserved Category, and 40% for candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories.

4. Elementary General Science (100 Marks) - 3.00 Hours

5. Law of Evidence & Procedure (150) -3.00 Hours

Optional Papers

 6. Constitutional and Administrative Law of India (150 Marks) - 3.00 hrs

7. Hindu Law and Muslim Law (150 Marks) 3.00 hrs

8. Law of Transfer of Property Property and Equity Principles (Principles of Equity), Justice-specific and relief (Law of Trusts and Specific Relief) (150 Marks)- 3.00 hrs

9. Law of Contracts & Torts (150 Marks) -3.00 hrs

10. Commercial Law (150 Marks) - 3.00 hrs
