EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(a) The candidate must be a citizen of India.
(b) The candidate must hold a degree in law.
(c) A Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) is mandatory.
(d) The candidate must have at least three years of experience as a legal practitioner in the Bar as of the date of the advertisement. The number of years of work experience will be calculated from the date of their provisional enrollment/registration with the concerned State Bar Council.
AGE LIMIT
Minimum 22 years and maximum 35 years as of the specified cutoff date.
Age Relaxation:
OBC: 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years)
SC / ST / Women / PwD: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
Scheme of Examination
Preliminary Examination: Objective and Multiple choice type
Mains Examination: Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type)
Interview: Viva- Voce (Personality Type)
Preliminary Examination
The exam has multiple-choice questions.
There are two papers on General Awareness and Law.
1. General Knowledge - 100 questions (100 Marks). It will be of 1:30 Hours.
2. LAW - 150 questions (150 Marks). It will be of 2 Hours.

4. Constitutional and Administrative Law of India
5. Hindu Law and Muslim Law
6. Law of Transfer of Property and Principles of Equity (including Law of Trusts and Specific Relief)
7. Law of Contracts and Torts
8. Commercial Law
MAINS EXAMINATION
Candidates are eligible for Mains examination are only who gets minimum qualifying marks i.e. 45% for candidates belonging to the Unreserved Category, and 40% for candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories.

5. Law of Evidence & Procedure (150) -3.00 Hours
Optional Papers

NOTE- In light of the Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, the revised syllabus for the subject Law of Evidence & Procedure is as follows:
Interview
It will be of 100 Marks.
Candidate need to score a minimum of 35% in the interview to make it to the final merit
