JHARKHAND JUDICIARY SYLLABUS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 

Graduate in Law from a recognized University and enrolled as an advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961 till last date of submission of application form. 

Candidate should possess sound health, bears good moral character and is not involved in, or related to any criminal case involving moral turpitude. 

 

AGE LIMIT

Above the age of 22 years and below the age of 35 years.

Provided that in the case of female candidate, or candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe there shall be relaxation of the upper age limit by 3 years.

Disabled Candidates will be given Category wise age relaxation of 10 years. 

 

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Preliminary Examination : Objective and Multiple Choice Type.

Mains Examination : Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type).

Interview : Viva-voce (Personality Test).

 

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of 100 marks in aggregate. 

The marks obtained in preliminary examination shall not be counted for the purpose of final selection. There shall be no negative marking.

Duration of Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of two hours.

MAINS EXAMINATION

Duration of Mains Examination shall be of three hours for each paper.

The Mains Examination shall be of four papers of 100 marks each comprising of the questions on the following subjects.:-

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 / The Code Of Criminal Procedure, 1973

The Limitation Act, 1963

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 / The Indian penal code,1860

The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023/ The Indian Evidence Act,1872

Paper-II

The Contract Act, 1872

The Sales of Goods Act, 1930

The Negotiable Instruments Act. 1881

The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996

The Transfer of Property Act, 1882

Paper-III

The Hindu Law 

The Mohammedan Law

Rent Control Law

The Specific Relief Act, 1963

Jurisprudence

Paper IV (Language)

Hindi & English-

INTERVIEW: VIVA VOCE

There shall be Viva-Voce Test of 100 marks.

In the Viva-Voce Test the minimum required qualifying marks would be 25% for the General category/EWS category candidates and 20% for SC/ST/EBC & BC.
