Bihar Judiciary (PCS-J) Preparation Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Preparation

EDUCATIONAL  QUALIFICATION

(i) A prospective Candidate must possess a Degree in Law from a University recognized by law in India & must be practicing as an Advocate in Courts of Civil and / or Criminal Jurisdiction on the last date fixed for submission of Online Application.

(ii) Candidates, who have passed the Degree in Law from the academic year 2009-2010 and onwards, must have also passed the All India Bar Examination, in order to be considered as eligible for being termed as a Practicing Advocate.

OR - must be working in the Courts or other Allied Departments on the last date fixed for receipt of applications.

(iii) Must possess Certificate(s), certifying to be possessing Basic Knowledge of Computer Application / Operation, issued by a Government Institute or other recognized Institute, as set out by the Government of Gujarat.

Note: Candidates working in the Courts or other Allied Departments, must be holding LL.B. Degree of 03 Years’ Course or 05 Years’ Course from the recognised University. 

 

AGE LIMIT

As on the last date fixed for submission of Online Application, a candidate belonging to General Category must not have crossed the age of 35 years and others i.e. in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, declared as such by the Government of Gujarat, as well as orthopedically Disabled Persons & Ex-Servicemen, must not have completed 38 years of age. 

The employees working in the Courts or other Allied Departments shall be allowed on a uniform basis, relaxation of a maximum period of 05 years or to the extent of equal number of years for which service has been put in by him/her, whichever is less, in the upper age limit.

However, in any case, the Upper Age Limit for such Candidate under any Category shall not exceed 40 years, as on the last date of submitting the ‘Online Application’.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Preliminary Examination : Objective and Multiple Choice Type 

Mains Examination : Descriptive Exam (Written Conventional Type)

Interview : Viva-voce (Personality Test)

 

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The Preliminary Examination  shall be of 100 Marks, the duration whereof will be 2 Hours, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each of 01 Mark with Negative Marking of 0.33 Mark for each Wrong / Multiple Answer, and would be based on the following Syllabus.

Paper II

Test of Gujarati Language: (Marks -50 – Duration 1½  Hours)

[For those Candidates, who have not passed Secondary (SSC) or Higher Secondary (HSC) Examination with subject of Gujarati]

(૨) ફકરા ઉપરથી પ્રશ્નોના જવાબ

(૩) સમાનાર્થી શબ્દો

૪) વિરૂદ્ધાર્થી શબ્દો

૫) પત્રલેખન

(૬) ભાષાંતર -અનુવાદ (ગુજરાતી - અંગ્રેજી અને અંગ્રેજી - ગુજરાતી)

(૭) ટૂંકનોંધ (કોઈપણ વિષય પર)

(૮) ગુજરાતી વ્યાકરણ

A candidate has to secure 50% or more Marks for unreserved category and 45% or more Marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwBD) in the Preliminary Examination and must have also passed their Secondary (SSC) or Higher Secondary (HSC) examination with subject of Gujarati;

OR

has to secure 50% or more Marks for unreserved category and 45% or more Marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwBD) in the Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) and 40% or more Marks in the Test of Gujarati Language, in case they have not passed their Secondary (SSC) or Higher Secondary (HSC) examination with subject of Gujarati.

 

MAINS EXAMINATION

The Main Written Examination shall consist of Two Papers, based on the Syllabus given below :

Legal Maxims

Language of Question Paper-I & Question Paper-II of Main Written Examination shall be English. Answers to Questions of Papers I & II of Main Written Examination may be given either in English or in Gujarati, if not instructed otherwise.

The Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwBD) must secure minimum 45% Marks and all other Candidates must secure minimum 50% Marks in the Main Written Examination for being eligible to be called for Viva-voce (Oral Interview) Test, provided that the Candidate has secured minimum 40% Marks in each paper. 

INTERVIEW:VIVA VOCE

Viva-voce Test shall be of 50 Marks.

The object of the Viva-voce Test is to assess the suitability of the Candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of communication, character and intellectual depth and the like, of the Candidate.

The Candidate has to obtain minimum 40% Marks in the Vivavoce Test.
