Bihar Judiciary (PCS-J) Preparation Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Preparation

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 

A candidate must have a degree in law (Professional) or integrated law course from a university established by law in India. 

 

AGE LIMIT

He minimum age is 21 years, and the maximum age allowed for the exam is 40 years. 

 

AGE RELAXATION 

Women candidate belonging to General Category - 5 Years

Women candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC and EWS of Rajasthan state- 10 years

Widows and divorced women- No upper age limit 

 

PLAN FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION 

The exam has 100 multiple-choice questions. 

The preliminary examination shall be objective type examination in which 70% weightage will be given to the subjects prescribed in syllabus for law Paper and 30% weightage shall be given to test proficiency in Hindi and English language. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination shall not be counted towards the final selection.

Each question has five options marked as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Candidate must darken only one circle (bubble) indicating the correct answer on the Answer Sheet using BLUE BALL POINT PEN. 

It is mandatory to fill one option for each question. 

If candidate is not attempting a question, then he/she has to darken the option eg '5'. Otherwise marks of question shall be deducted. If none of the five circles is darkened, one third (1/3) part of the marks of question shall be deducted. 

A candidate who has not darkened any of the five circles in more than 10% questions shall be disqualified. 

Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every wrong answer one-third of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted.

MAINS EXAMINATION

The mains exam shall consist of Paper I of Law (carrying 300 marks) and Paper II of Language (carrying 100 marks).

The standard of the paper-II will be that of Senior Secondary level.  Law paper is designed to test practical knowledge of the candidates in criminal law and procedure and framing charges in criminal cases.

The minimum qualifying marks for each paper shall be 40%: Provided that the percentage fixed as above shall be relaxed by 5% for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
