
JHARKHAND ASSISTANT PUBLIC PROSECUTOR
ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY:-
The minimum educational qualification of the candidate for appointment shall be the degree of Bachelor of Law, which is mandatory for registration to practice as an advocate in the court.
Additional Qualification - Certificate of computer operation from an institute recognized by the State Government.

a. Minimum age limit - 21 years.
b. Maximum Age Limit - the maximum age limit for appointment of Assistant Public Prosecutor is as follows:-

SELECTION PROCESS FOR APPOINTMENT: -
A. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The appointment of Assistant Public Prosecutors will be through competitive examination and this examination will be two-tier-(a) Preliminary Examination, (b) Main Examination (Written Examination and Interview)
The preliminary examination will have two papers.
The first paper will be of 100 marks which will contain questions related to general studies.
The second paper will be of 200 marks on law.

In the first paper of preliminary examination,
General Studies,
general questions related to national and international events,
Indian history,
geography,
Indian economy,
political system and
general science will be asked.
Along with this, questions related to modern historical facts, geography, economy and culture of Jharkhand state will also be asked.
In the second paper, questions related to
Evidence and
Criminal procedure law,
Indian Penal Code,
Indian Constitution.
B. MAIN EXAMINATION
I. In the main examination, there will be an examination of 100 marks in any one of the following 09 regional languages prescribed by the Government of Jharkhand-
a. Santali language and literature
b. Mundari language and literature
c. Kharia language and literature
d. Ho language and literature
e. Kudukh language and literature
f. Nagpuri language and literature
g. Kurmali language and literature
h. Khortha language and literature
i. Panchpargania language and literature.
The marks of this paper will not be included in the main examination but for this it will be mandatory to obtain the following minimum qualifying marks: -
General category 40 percent
Backward class 36.5 percent
Backward class Annexure-1 34 percent
Scheduled caste / tribe and women category 32 percent
Primitive tribe 30 percent
Economically weaker section (EWS) 40 percent
II. Under the main examination there will be written examination and personality test (interview). In the written examination there will be subjects related to
General Hindi, English, Essay, General Studies and Law.

Minimum qualifying marks:-
a. It will be mandatory to obtain the following minimum qualifying marks for Preliminary Examination, Essay, General Studies and Law subjects in Main Examination and Interview: -

b. Subject details related to written examination: -
1. Marks obtained in General Hindi and English subjects will not be added in preparing the merit list. But those candidates who do not obtain 30% marks in General Hindi and English papers will not be considered to have passed the written examination.
2. The ability to express one's thoughts clearly and correctly and the power of intuition will be tested in the first paper of the main examination, General Hindi and the second paper, English.
In this, essay of 20 marks,
letter writing (Government and Semi-Government) of 20 marks,
grammar of 25 marks,
sentence structure of 15 marks and
succinctness related questions of 20 marks will be asked.
3. The third paper of main examination, essay, will have total '2' (two) sections, in which one section will be based on law subject and the other section on general essay.
Essay will have to be written on any one of the optional subjects of each section. Each essay will be of 50-50 marks.
4. In the fourth paper of the main examination, General Studies, questions of
10 marks will be asked from national and international events,
10 marks from modern history of India,
10 marks from geography,
10 marks from Indian economy,
10 marks from general science,
10 marks from Indian political system and
25 marks questions related to legal terminology (with explanation).
Along with this, questions of 15 marks will also be asked from modern history, geography, economics and culture of Jharkhand.
5. Law Subject:
I. In the fifth paper, questions of
125 marks will be asked from Criminal Procedure Code and
75 marks from Indian Evidence Act.
II. In the sixth paper, questions of
200 marks (including problems) will be asked from Indian Penal Code.
III. In the seventh paper, questions of
200 marks will be asked from Indian Constitutional Law.
IV. In the eighth paper (from Criminal Minors Act), questions of
80 marks will be asked from section 'A',
60 marks from section 'B' and
60 marks from section 'C'.
