186. Rules regarding the registration and surveillance of resident and wandering criminal tribes—

187.  Instructions for dealing with suspicious foreigners—

Instruction for dealing with suspicious foreigners and gangs of foreign Asiatic vagrants are contained in the Manual of Government Orders. Such gangs should not be passed on under police of other guards to other districts of other provinces or to Indian States. If it is desirable to deport them, the order of the District Magistrate should be obtained.

189. Deputation of a police officer for a foreigner who gets order of removal m India—

Whenever a foreigner is directed by a written order under Section 3 the Foreigners Act III of 1964, to remove himself from British India, a police officer shall be deputed to travel in the same train as the foreigner to see that the terms of the order are strictly obeyed. The police officer shall be provided with a copy of the order and in case of its infringement shall under Section 4 of the Act at once arrest such foreigner and take him in custody before the nearest local authority unless the foreigner on being arrested satisfies the police officer that he is prepared to comply with the order and proceed at once to his destination. For the powers of district authorities to arrest and detain foreigners in anticipation of'orders of removal under Section 3, see Section 3 (a) of the Act.
